Immunization Information
Immunize! Texas State law requires students attending school to be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable diseases.

Texas Sales Tax Holiday Aug. 10 - 12
Shoppers can save money on certain items priced under $100 during the state's annual sales tax holiday, including most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks. As in previous years, the law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 from sales and use taxes, which could save shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.

All sales of qualifying items made during the holiday period qualify for the exemption, including items sold online, or by telephone or mail. Lay-away plans can be used again this year to take advantage of the sales tax holiday.

For more information from the Texas Comptroller click here.

After School Opportunities
In partnership with Seguin ISD, the City of Seguin offers an after-school program for students in kindergarten through fifth grades. The JAAM (Jammin After-School Adventures for Me) program is based upon the school year calendar and is offered immediately after school until 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at each K-5 elementary school. There is a 10 student minimum requirement for the program to be offered at each elementary school and there may be waiting lists at some schools based on staffing availability. Parents may register their children for JAAM when they register for school Aug. 7. During and following school registration, students may be registered at the Parks and Recreation Office located in Max Starcke Park West near the golf course at 600 River Dr. West. JAAM activities include a daily snack, homework time, group activities, arts and crafts, movies, parties and fun for only $30 per week with a one-time $25 registration fee.
